As one of the leading counsellors and coach/therapists in her field, Frances is known for using transformational techniques and innovative strategies to help her clients transform their lives and move forward positively. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and professional journals, and she is regularly interviewed by BBC Radio Derby on issues around mental health and wellbeing. You can hear a recording of her latest radio interview here.
Alongside her considerable qualifications and professional experience, Frances has a wealth of life experience which has given her a deep understanding of human nature and an ability to relate to her clients and put them at their ease. Her clients come from all walks of life, and have included high profile individuals in the public eye who particularly value the absolute discretion and completely confidential environment she is able to offer.
Frances is accredited by the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adheres to their Code of Ethics and Practice. She is also an senior accredited member of the NCP (National Council of Psychotherapists); a founding member of the Coaching Division of the BACP; a member of BAPT (British Association of Play Therapists) and AAMET (Association of Meridian Energy Therapists).
She has spent over 25 years working in her own successful private practice seeing adults and children. She spent 14 years as a part-time specialist in the NHS working with children, teenagers and their families within two CAMHS teams.
Over recent years Frances has developed a bespoke, highly specialist approach to her work that seamlessly integrates key elements of counselling and coaching into a unique, highly effective service for individuals who are committed to their personal development. Now practising exclusively from Sunshine Barn Frances has realised her dream to be able to create a beautiful sanctuary for her clients in a peaceful, rural environment where they can find shelter from their personal ‘storm’ and benefit from a fully holistic and creative approach to improved wellbeing.
In March 2016, Frances was one of three finalists in the Inaugural Towergate Care Awards in the category ‘Creative Counselling Initiative of the Year 2016’, having been shortlisted from 140 nominees in her category.
