Finding the courage to face your issues and resolve them is the most valuable thing you’ll ever do

No matter how stressed or stuck you might be feeling right now, you can find your way to a brighter future.

Finding the courage to face your issues and resolve them is the most valuable thing you’ll ever do

My clients seek help with a variety of issues… do any of these resonate with you?

"How does one become a butterfly?" she asked. "You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar."

Who are my clients?

The majority of my adult clients are women and include senior executives, business owners, senior health professionals, and high profile individuals in the public eye, seeking absolute discretion (entertainers, sportspeople, politicians and media personalities), or they may be the spouses/partners of such individuals.

Often, in the eyes of the world, they seem smart and successful. But inside many of them secretly feel that they are broken or not good enough, or they find it very hard to relax and enjoy their success. This can be due to a life experience or a trauma in their past – such as a bereavement, or a relationship ending. Or they may currently be experiencing a distressing or challenging situation – such as serious illness or losing their job. But sometimes it’s simply the recognition that, up till now, they’ve been living someone else’s dreams or fulfilling someone else’s expectations, and now it’s time to find out who they really are.

Many of the women I work with are battling issues like depression, anxiety or low self-esteem. They are tired of feeling sad, exhausted, lost or overwhelmed. They often feel that they can’t cope with life, or the demands of their job, or caring for their family. They wonder how long they can continue to hold it all together before they break. They long to feel some joy and hope again, feel motivated to care for themselves well and have the energy to reinvest fully in their lives, but often when I first see them just getting through each day can seem a huge challenge.

Whatever my clients’ issues are, I really understand their pain, and what a relief it is for them to find a ‘soft place to land’ and experience some tender care, while they begin to explore their situation. My goal is not just to teach them how to live with, or manage, the daily stress or triggers as, while this provides some short term relief, it doesn’t tackle the underlying issues. My unique programmes enable my clients to understand and break free from the source of the issues, and provide them with a long term, permanent solution that changes the whole course of their lives.

I only work with people who are serious about improving their lives and are prepared to invest a significant of amount of time, energy and money to make that happen. This enables me to fully commit to supporting them and gives me time to share everything I have learned that may be of value to them, and bring my highest and best energy to the table.

To work on yourself is the best thing you can do. Accept that you are not perfect, but you are enough. And then start working on everything that destroys you. Your insecurities, your ego, your dark thoughts. You will see, in the end, you’re going to make peace with yourself. And that’s the greatest thing in the world.

Emotional Freedom Technique…

EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as ‘tapping’) is an incredibly effective treatment. It quickly reduces the intensity of difficult feelings so they feel manageable rather than overwhelming, in fact such feelings often disappear altogether. in helping fears (including fear of flying), phobias, anxiety, trauma, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, smoking cessation, weight loss and many other problems. Used in conjunction with counselling or coaching, it offers a valuable additional tool and many common phobias and fears can be completely eliminated in a single session.

The Emotional Freedom Technique concept was developed in the US in the 1990’s by Gary Craig, using the principles of Thought Field Therapy (TFT) discovered by Dr. Roger Callahan. EFT roots are in acupuncture, kinesiology and psychology. EFT is spreading very rapidly in the US and in the UK, where the concept is now used in some specialist areas of the National Health Service.

It has been likened to acupuncture, but without needles, and is a method of literally tapping into the body’s energy system to allow emotional issues to be resolved effectively and with astonishing speed. It is a completely safe, non-invasive procedure.

Using EFT involves ‘tuning into’ the issue to be worked on and then tapping on specific acupressure points with your fingers. For example if you still carry anger towards someone who has hurt you in the past, you would be asked to think about them, and notice how you feel. But you do not have to relive past events. You just have to be aware that the negative feeling is there. After having EFT you will still retain the memory of the event you were working on but it will no longer have the emotional intensity that it had before.

Therapy and treatment room at Brighter Futures Personal GrowthComplementary therapy…

There is no doubt that talking one’s problems or challenges through can be tremendously effective, but there are times when we are so worn-out, depleted and fragile that it can be hard to fully engage in counselling or coaching.

Prolonged exposure to stress can lead to an over-production of cortisol and exhaustion of our adrenal glands. In such situations, the most helpful approach is to start with nurturing at a deeper level – working with the senses of touch, smell and sound to help relax and restore a person and prepare them for the demands of talking therapies.

Complementary therapies, and other body-based activities such as yoga, have also been proven to help us prevent the build up of stress in the first place, by helping us relax and release pent-up feelings, so are a very valuable way to keep ourselves emotionally well.

This is why I work with a number of complementary therapists to ensure my clients can have access to a range of relaxing treatments when they visit Sunshine Barn.

The following treatments are available:

Clients, parents of our younger clients, or members of the general public are most welcome to book treatments.
