Heal your heart
Meet Frances Weston - Brighter Futures Personal Growth

Hello, I’m Frances

I offer a strong, supportive presence as you or your child are going through a difficult time, offering careful, attentive listening, nurturing and genuine interest, together with proven strategies and solutions.

You can count on me to listen and observe with great care, picking up on the subtleties that others can miss. I am able to gather information from your verbal and non-verbal communication and reflect it back to you in a way that enables you to understand yourself better, and challenge perceptions you may have about yourself or life that are unhelpful. I can offer new perspectives and, using skills honed over many years, help you to unblock/unstick and release negative thoughts and beliefs so you can feel happier and more confident about yourself and your future.

This is much more than just listening, reflecting, or having a chat with a trusted friend!

As one client put it…

“Frances had the ability to look beyond what she saw when she first met me (a chaotic muddle!) and see my potential. I found this so affirming. She helped me to believe change was possible and using her blend of special ingredients, like a kind of alchemist, she supported and encouraged me to change and grow in ways I never would have thought possible.”

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

Experience

I have spent almost 30 years working in my own successful private practice seeing adults, children and young people. Alongside this, I worked in the NHS as a part-time Highly Specialist Child and Adolescent Therapist within two CAMHS teams for 14 years, and as a Senior Counsellor for 8 years.

I wrote a regular column for The British Journal of School Nursing for several years.  It was entitled ‘Counsellor’s Casebook’ and was about my counselling work with children and young people.  I was also a member of their Editorial Board.

For over 18 years I provided clinical supervision to organisations, independent counsellors and counselling students supporting therapists with their professional and personal development.

I am fully insured and have enhanced DBS disclosure.

Awards

I was one of three finalists in the prestigious Inaugural Towergate Care Awards in the category ‘Creative Counselling Initiative’, having been shortlisted from 140 nominees in my category.

THE NEXT STEP

Are you ready to find out more about working with me? If you are interested in a high touch, specialist programme then let's have a chat . . .

Potential programme clients are always offered a free 30 minute telephone consultation with me, which can be booked by clicking the button below. It’s called a Clarity Call, and it is a chance for you to tell me more about yourself – or your child – and your situation, and it enables me to get a sense of you, or your child, what your needs are and how I can serve you best. If we feel like a good fit, I can explain more about the programmes I offer and you can ask me any questions you may have.
